L'Affable

This chic bistro, with its comfy bench seats, pewter countertop and warm welcome, is one of our favourite picks. Its fixed lunch option for €38 changes weekly. Menu staples include terrine, egg mayonnaise and taramasalata, but also sweetbreads cooked to perfection, chocolate soufflé with vanilla whipped cream, top quality fish and prime cuts of meat. For wine enthusiasts, there are top labels among the 80 cellar listings (with back vintages), including a 2013 Château d’Yquem (€1,050 a bottle!) and a 2006 Petrus (€4,500). Rest assured, there are also some very affordable natural VDF (Matthieu Barret, Jean Foillard...).
