Just a few doors down from its big sister, the Vivant 2 restaurant in Rue de Petites Ecuries, Déviant revisits the classic Parisian wine bar with its large bar and minimalist décor. Here, the energy flows through the food and the drinks. Generous surf-and-turf style tapas – line-caught bluefin tuna with creamy, ‘spoon-able’ Gorgonzola and Niçoise-style condiments and trout confit with smoked oil, coco de Paimpol white beans and taramasalata – are served with over 60 carefully selected living wines. The experience is designed to be raw, honest and frills-free, but enjoyment is non-negotiable.
