Combat

Set amongst the hills of Belleville, the Combat district is home to Margot Lecarpentier’s eponymous bar, named as a tribute to women’s fight for equality. For once, the vibe is not that of a speakeasy, with velvet curtains and subdued lighting. Combat steps out of the shadows and into the light with its large bi-fold windows which disappear with the arrival of summer, letting the sloping pavement terrace and arty interior merge into a single bar with its joyful atmosphere and picture-perfect cocktails. Rumour has it that even Alain Ducasse has been spotted here, smitten by the talent of this dazzlingly gifted bartender.
