Chez Marius

Located near the Gares de l’Est and Nord, opposite Saint-Martin market, this 100-year-old bistro is the appealing home of easy banter and gingham table cloths. The food navigates between France and Italy. A native of the Dolomites, the chef switches from traditional dishes to plates for sharing (€12-20). Vitello tonnato, beef tripe à la parmigiana, linguine with clams, bottarga, garlic, parsley and chilli – definitely more for meat lovers than veggies! Same goes for the welcome committee – hare and wild boar trophies and stuffed fox. For drinks, you can’t miss the 100-strong natural wine list hand-written on a large wall-mounted blackboard.
